Description
Exhibition catalog of the Nomura collection of two-panel which incorporate portions of kosode (short-sleeved kimono) from the 16th to 19th century. Japanese text with a foreword and list of works in English.

"The current exhibition is the first comprehensive introduction of kosode byoubu. It includes the one hundred screens from the museum's collection along with six additional screens recently discovered in Japan and abroad. These works will be displayed in rotations along with related materials not previously available to the public. Thus, this exhibition represents the first complete survey of the development of textile design from the Momoyama until the Edo period." -Foreword.
